How To Get To Puerto Galera

Easy Way

The trip to Big Lala Philippines Dive Resort is made in two parts: First you go to Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Then you continue - usually by minivan and boat - on to Big La Laguna Beach on Mindoro island.

Therefore, you should take care of the following in preparation of your trip:

Obtain plane-tickets to the Philippines (Manila).
Decide how you want to get from Manila to our location on the island of Mindoro.
Decide what kind of hotel room you want to live in on Mindoro.

Hard Way

Having arrived in Manila there are several ways to continue on to Big Lalaguna. The trip consists of a drive down to the harbor in the city of Batangas, and then a boat trip over to Mindoro. Click here to view a couple of maps.

There are daily bus routes between Manila and Batangas Harbor. The most convenient, and safe, of these is the Super 85 Ferry Service, which is operated by Seatracks Shipping Inc. The bus leaves daily at 8:00 AM (but you need to check in at 7:30) from the City State Tower on Mabini Street in Ermita (not far from Manila airport). This bus will take you directly to Batangas Harbor, and from there, further on down to Puerto Galera Harbor (only 10 minutes from Big Lalaguna by boat.

Snorkelling

Go snorkeling near Puerto Galera and experience the amazing coral and colorful fish from above. There are excellent snorkeling areas right at our Philippines Dive Resort on Big La Laguna Beach. Just put on a mask and snorkel and hit the water from the beach. Another great way is to come along in the boat when somebody you know is going diving. Then you can follow them from above and see what they're doing.
